Tis Hazari Courts is located on Rohtak Road, Delhi – 110054, near Shastri Park and Kashmere Gate. It is one of India’s largest district court complexes, housing over 150 courtrooms across multiple court blocks, dedicated family court wings, Sessions Court blocks, and Chief Metropolitan Magistrate courts. The complex is accessible by Metro (Tis Hazari Metro Station on the Red Line).
Two District Courts in One Complex
Unlike other Delhi court complexes, Tis Hazari houses two entirely separate district court setups: the Central District Courts (covering Central Delhi) and the North District Courts (covering North Delhi). Each has its own District Judge, Family Court Principal Judge, and independent registry. Cases must be filed before the correct district’s court based on jurisdiction.

Under Section 19 of the Hindu Marriage Act, a divorce petition can be filed at the court within whose jurisdiction: (a) the marriage was solemnised, (b) the parties last resided together, or (c) the respondent currently resides.
